Access to Environmental Markets Workshop
Current & future opportunities for Wheatbelt Farmers
Date: Tuesday 24th February 08:30
Location: Bridgeley Community Centre, Northam
Wheatbelt NRM is proud to launch the industry report Wheatbelt land-use paradigms - navigating new industries in the low carbon and natural capital era.
The Access to Environmental Markets workshop allows farmers the opportunity to learn more about the environmental markets, ranging from tree carbon and biomass markets, through to the Nature Repair Market. It will also give you the opportunity for hands-on experience with the practical tools and models required to see if a project is worthwhile for you!
The event will host presentations from local, national and international experts including Kevin Elmy (internationally acclaimed soil health regeneration specialist), Mark Morrison (environmental economist and environmental marketer, Charles Sturt University, Soil CRC), Simon Dawkins (Managing Director at the Oil Mallee Company), Michael Young (Farm Optimization Group), and Sara Castillo Rodriguez (Assistant Director, Nature Finance and Markets Policy Branch, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW)).
If you are interested in growing your understanding of what the Environmental Markets can do for your farm and the impact they will have on the future of agriculture, then this event is for you.
This event is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program alongside funding from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program through RegenWA’s Accelerating Regenerative Agriculture Adoption Project.
